Nirmal Kajee Shrestha

Nirmal Kajee Shrestha is Vice President and General Manager of MetLife Nepal, joining MetLife in October 2002. He is responsible for entire Nepal Operation.

Nirmal started his career as a second line in MetLife supporting the Agency Director from 2002 to build the Agency Management Team in Nepal. He was promoted as the Sales Manager in 2004 with additional responsibility of Agency Sales. From September 2008 onwards, he started leading the Agency Team as a whole. He was promoted as Agency Director in April 2009 and started coordinating the Bancassurance and Corporate Solutions as well. From February 2015 he was designated as Chief Distribution Officer with the responsibilities of all Distribution Channels in Nepal i.e. Agency, Bancassurance & Corporate Solutions. With effect from 01 July 2017, he has been given the responsibility of Chief Executive Officer as a Vice President and General Manager, Nepal.

Prior to MetLife, he worked in tourism industry like hotels and airlines for 10 years in different capacities. He worked for 7 years in the leading 5 star hotels of the country like Yak & Yeti, Radisson etc. Additionally, he had an experience of Airlines for 3 years in Air India Ltd.

Nirmal is also holding the position as Chairman of Life Insurers’ Association (JEBISAN) in Nepal.

He has done MBA in marketing from Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu, Nepal and also has earned the (FLMI) Fellow, Life Management Institute and ACS Degree from LOMA, Life Office Management Association, USA.
